Nina Dascoli

 Nina Dascoli

Nina Dascoli began studying dance at age four. Nina has trained exclusively at the American Academy Ballet under the direction of Kim R. Pauley. She joined the Charleston Ballet company as a corps dancer in 2016 after having participated as an apprentice. As a student at the school, she has studied with many guest teachers and choreographers such as Olivier Wecxsteen, former Boston Ballet principal; Jerry Rose, Artistic Director of Beckley Dance Theater; Rob Royce; Radenko Pavlovich, Artistic Director of Columbia Classical Ballet and Ariel Serrano, Artistic Director of the Sarasota Cuban Ballet School. She has attended the WV Dance Festival for many years taking classes from Lorraine Graves, Jamal Story, Donald Laney, Ricardo Melendez and Lenore Morales.

In 2017 she participated in the VKIBC, a ballet competition in New York City and advanced to the finals round. She also attended Sarasota Cuban Ballet School Summer Intensive. In 2018 she was accepted to and attended the Governor’s School for the Arts program, majoring in dance.

As a member of the Charleston Ballet, she has performed roles in many ballets that include full-length classical works such as SWAN LAKE, DON QUIXOTE, LA BAYADERE, ROMEO AND JULIET, PAQUITA and varied roles in the company’s NUTCRACKER productions with the WV Symphony Orchestra. She has performed in contemporary original ballets of WIZARD OF OZ, RHAPSODY IN BLUE, POULENC’S PIANO CONCERTO, and SQUARE DANCE. She performed ROMANIAN FOLK DANCES in Morgantown as part of a collegiate dance festival sponsored by WV University. Recently, she has performed original modern and character works such as KEEP ON TRUCKIN’, MASHALLA in a Bollywood dancing style and a range of different styles accompanied the live music of the BEO String Quartet. Nina looks forward to a career that will allow her to continue her dancing.
